St Paul's History
This image shows St Paul preaching in Berea,in Greece to people.
St Paul was born in 5 AD and past away in 67 AD.
Saul or St Paul was a man who went around killing Christians and the followers of the Lord. He would ask high priests for names of synagogues in places like Damascus. He did this so that he would follow the followers of the Lord and kill them. (Acts 9:1-2).
Saul was a bad influence to people in the world of Christianity. He would find any type of way to kill anyone who was in the way of the Lord, because he enjoyed doing it and by receiving permission from chief priests.
The thing that made Saul or St Paul change his mind to stop killing people is that after he had killed so many people, a bright light flashed around him and he fell to the ground. He then heard a voice of “Saul, Saul. Why do you persecute me?” (Acts 9:3-5) It was Jesus. The voice told Saul to get up and walk into the city. The men that were with Saul, heard the voice but could not see anything. The men guided him as he was blinded towards the city of Damascus. For three days, he was blinded, he did not drink or eat in that time amount. (Acts 9:6-9)
Somewhere in Damascus there was a believer named Ananias. Ananias had a vision of Lord telling him to do something. In Saul’s vision while he was praying he could see a man named Ananias hold his hands on him and that he might see again. (Acts 9:10-12)
Ananias was confused because he told The Lord that this man has gone around killing followers of you. But Lord told him that Saul would serve him and make his name well known. (Acts 9:13-16)
Ananias went to where Saul was and placed his hands on Saul’s hand, “Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me Jesus himself. Who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here. He sent me so that you might see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Soon later Saul was able to see again and he got baptised. (Acts 9:17-19)
The next few days Saul stayed in Damascus with the believers and preached in the synagogues that Jesus was the son of God. Overtime Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful and he did not want to kill anymore but just worship Jesus. (Acts 9:19-25)
Saul decided that he would go to Jerusalem to become a disciple. They would not believe him to be one. But then Barnabas came in and showed him about the Apostles. Saul told Barnabas all that he has experienced and that he had done. They had accepted him and went all around Jerusalem preaching in the name of the lord. After this he kept spreading his word for Jesus and preached all around many different synagogues and places. (Acts 9:26-29).
After this he decided that he would go on missionary journeys and that is what he did.
After St Paul's conversion:Paul’s Advice to the church was:

Live in an attitude of prayer
